NEW: Readers’ Reflections

We want to hear your voices! With the spring 2011 issue, Wild Apples introduced Reflections, a few pages devoted to your -- our readers’ -- words. Yes, we want to hear what you think, but more than that we want to know about a personal experience directly or tangentially related to the issue’s theme. We are looking for short, thoughtful, original prose – no published material, please -- you don’t have to be a professional writer, just an open hearted one. Please attach your (double-spaced) document of 250 words or less in an email to editors@wildapples.org. Include your name, address, email, and phone number on each page. We will publish a sampling, but will respond to all within a month of receiving.

We respect our writers’ voices and honor the individuality and integrity of their work. However, we do edit all material published in Wild Apples; if your submission is accepted, an editor will get in touch to discuss suggested revisions.

The deadline for submissions for Issue 8 | Root, Trunk, and Bough Reflections is July 8, 2011.

Submission guidelines

Wild Apples seeks submissions of visual arts, poetry, and prose - essays, short fiction, and creative nonfiction. All work must be original and unpublished. We have a special interest in work that engages themes of nature, sustainability, spirituality, global interdependence, compassionate engagement, or sense of place.

Our upcoming theme is Issue 8 - Root, Trunk, and Bough

• Poetry - Submit up to 5 poems. Poems for Issue 8 will be accepted from January 1 through May 31, 2011.
  
  
• Visual Art and Photographs - Submit on CD/DVD or email Low Resolution jpeg files no more than 72 dpi. Please send up to 8 images. Images will be accepted through May 31, 2011.
  

Please include a brief bio/artist statement with your name, email, and address.

Be sure to include your name and email address on every page.
